Web Pages:
Business Web Pages
Our
Mission...
Our main focus and goal is to provide you with the best of personal
service while we create a quality web presence you'll be proud of, and
one that meets your needs. We'll
be happy to explain anything you are unclear about, will be realistic in
setting goals and achieving them in relation to preparing your site
and/or maintaining it for you; will keep you apprised of progress, and
will work with you closely to make sure your web site is a true
reflection of you and your business.
How
it relates to you...
Our desire to provide you with all you need to make this transition
smoothly is just the first step. Some
business owners are unfamiliar with the process involved in presenting
their business to the wide customer audience available on the Internet.
Some business owners have had an unhappy or unprofessional
experience in attempting to make this transition.
There are many “web design” businesses advertised today, not
all of whom are successful in their efforts.
Of those who are, some do not have the business experience to
make a commitment and follow through in a professional and timely
manner. This often happens
because they take on more work than they have time for and the result is
they are unable to provide the personal service you need. We want
the opportunity to show you just how easy it can be! Be sure you
check out our portfolio to see what we're doing with other businesses.
Basics
of the process...
Here are the basics of what we can provide. Full details are
listed on the "Our Rates" page.
-
We
will provide a web page that meets your approval, and one designed
for success in Internet marketing; we'll provide basic
hand-registration with the most-used search engines, and can keep
them updated for you every six months.
The marketing of your site is a very important component of the
successful internet sales and marketing of your products or
services.
-
We'll
arrange for host server space, and get it on the Internet for you.
-
We'll
maintain it for you if you wish. Maintenance includes checking all the
links periodically to make sure they are still working, making sure
the entire site stays functional, and making any changes or updates
you would like. Note... there is a separate fee for
maintenance of the site. This is an important aspect of a
business site. You want to keep your business (and your
website) in the forefront of your clients' minds. The best way
to accomplish that with a web site is to make your site interactive.
Presentations of special offers, coupons and contests
gives them an opportunity to "interact" with you through
the website. It keeps their interest, and keeps them coming
back to YOU instead of someone else. A web site that just sits
there, never-changing, will not produce much business while it waits
for someone to wander in. Do you have customer files or a
database that includes email addresses? Well, if you don't,
you'll want to get started with that! What's the best way to
get your current customers to visit your new website and take
advantage of your special offers? Why, by email, of course!
Your very first special offer should be for something in exchange
for your customers'/clients' and website visitors' email addresses!
We
are not able to offer hosting "space" for your website at this
time, but will work with you to arrange for dependable hosting of your
site. Fees for this will be directly paid by you to the host
server.
A
Domain Name...
If you haven't already, you should give serious consideration to
registering a domain name. We highly recommend it, for the
following reasons: It provides a professional image, and perhaps more
importantly, with its own domain name your site can be moved from server
to server without a change of URL, or address. The price of a
domain name is $35 per year, and the first two years must be paid in
advance. This fee is paid directly by you to Internic, the issuing
organization, and is in addition to the fees in your web design contract
with High Desert Web Design. We will help you in choosing your
domain name, and search to find out if it is available for you, free.
What
kind of site?
There are several types of business web sites, but they generally fall
into the following categories. You should decide which of these
types fits your goal:
-
A
basic page; an overview of your company with contact information
-
A
site that provides enough detail of your products and/or service(s),
to generate interest in them, including schedules, menus, tour
dates, etc., and contact information
-
A
detailed catalog of illustrated products/ services with pricing and
full information on ordering.
In most
cases, the first type listed above is frustrating for an Internet
customer, and we do not recommend them.
The Internet public expects more from a website than from an
advertisement that would appear in the newspaper, a magazine or the
telephone book. They expect to find more detailed information on
the Internet, and when presented with a site that provides it, they
respond to that. The more
detail and interaction you can provide, the better they will like it,
and the greater the response for your business.
The
next step...
Contact us and we'll get started with planning. You will be responsible
for providing clear photos, or logos (if you have them).
If you can provide them in a digital format it will be a cost
savings. You will be
expected to provide written copy for the text for a straight design
contract. This can also be
submitted digitally or in hard copy.
A
Special Feature...
We can offer writing services to prepare the text for your web site.
Our experience covers a wide range of published writing and
preparation of professional advertising copy in a variety of formats
including display ads, brochures, postcards, flyers, reports, catalogs
and instruction manuals. We'll
work closely with you in this area, getting your input and approval so
the copy meets your needs and reflects your style.
Personal
Home Pages
What a personal
homepage can do for you...
A personal web page can be an excellent way to keep in touch with family
members or friends who are far away, and let them see how, where, and
what you are doing. It can be a showcase for your hobbies or your
work. It can be a chronicle of a journey, a journal, or an outlet
for your talent. It can be very rewarding, and the interaction you
have with those who visit your site can provide a lot of pleasure.
How we can help...
If you want a personal web page but don't want to do it yourself, we
will be happy to work with you so that your goal for the website will be
realized. All you have to provide is the photos and copy for what
you want, and a clear idea of the goal you have for your site, and we'll
do the work. We'll help you by finding a design that suits you and
fits your personality, we'll put it all together, and put it on the
internet for you. We'll even maintain it for you if that's what
you'd like.
Where do you start...
If you need ideas for your homepage so you can get a clearer idea of
what you want to present to the public, or how you want to present it, just
email us or call and we'll be happy to provide you with some resources
that will be appropriate for you. You are also welcome to go
through our site. It has many pages in a wide variety of styles
that may help you form your own ideas. To access our personal
