Our Country Cottage 2001 When the snow disappeared this spring, we were dismayed. It was a terrible mess under all that snow! No flowers, what grass was left was 18 inches long, and willows and wild roses were thick everywhere. But, after six weeks of backbreaking work, it was cleaned up, the trees thinned, the grass fed weeded and re-sown. We finished that just in time to get a flower bed in, and because we were so limited in time, that was all the flowers we planted other than some pots and two window boxes. It was enough. Voila! Our country cottage... quite a change from last winter.
